IV And The Strange Band is comprised of founding vocalist/guitarist Coleman ‘IV’ Williams, who is the son of Hank III, bassist Jason Dietz, guitarist David Talley, banjo player Daniel Mason, drummer Carson Kehrer, fiddler Laura Beth Jewell, and steel player John Judkins. The song above, titled Inbred, is their newest single that will be on their upcoming album, Southern Circus, which is set to release June 17, 2022 via Black Country Rock Records, a label created by Waylon Jennings’ son, Shooter Jennings. You can pre-order Southern Circus here!
Fan fact: Inbred is about the Fugate family who were from Kentucky in the 1800s. Martin Fugate and Elizabeth Smith, who were related, carried recessive genes which turned their children’s skin a blueish tint. Some of their children also had married within their family, causing their children to have blue skin and passed it on for generations to come. There are currently no known Fugute family members, who are alive, who carry this gene anymore.
IV And The Strange Band released the single Son of Sin on April 20th, 2021. The song truly showcases the diversity of IV’s Music. It incorporates elements of Outlaw Country, Southern Rock, and even hints of Heavy Metal.
They are almost finished with a short US run with EYEHATEGOD. The last SOLD OUT show on the tour is tonight in Little Rock, AR at White Water Tavern.
Fan fact: While on tour with EYEHATEGOD this week, IV And The Strange Band played a show on April 14th at the Buzzbin in Canton, OH, which is the town Hank Williams Sr was supposed to play while on tour in 1953 and passed away while on the ride there. The rest of the Williams family avoided playing shows there ever since. IV mentioned on his Official Instagram that he believes the curse has been lifted, as he’s the first Williams to play a show there since Hank Sr’s Death.

A record release show for Southern Circus is set to commence on June 18th in Nashville, TN at EXIT/IN at 2208 Elliston Pl. It is an 18+ show and he will be joined by The Kernal and Riley Downing. Tickets are $15 and you can purchase them here.
